I’m not sure what the original post for this page was, but looking back, it’s pretty clear that this was around the time where I’d gotten really comfortable with the tablet.

I still wasn’t sure what to do with my very large cast, so I decided that Stan would make occasional cameos and not say anything.

I like the way that the first panel gets across the sort of show-stopping effect that such a statement would have on a crowded room, and Ladybug’s expression is priceless in Panel 3.

Astral Awareness

Telepathy is weird, because thoughts are weird. They sort of run together and don’t always make sense. Telepathic communication is probably even stranger, because there is probably very little actual discussion- it’s more than likely an exchange of impulses and emotions, remembered as well as expressed, along with a strange mishmash of mental imagery. I’m not sure how one might communicate while astral projecting, but I assume it’d be something along those lines. It’s probably also really hard, if not impossible, to lie under those circumstances.

I thought that this would be an awkward way of telling the story. Now however this is one of my favorite story panels. I hope you like it as well because there is more to come. -Sapo

It looks like a stream or two got crossed, and the original comment for this post was either eaten or swapped with that from a preceding page. I’m not really in the mood to dig through and try and figure that out, so here are my thoughts on this page now.

Again, lack of planning hurts the comic to an extent- if I’d had it to do over again, I might not have made the cast quite so big. It does make sense with my original idea of Amaranth being a sort of counselor to the newly Forgotten, but it was just rough to draw and place everyone, as well as make them relevant to the story. I’m still not sure that I did this with all of them at this point. I ought to make a flow chart or something, but that never seems to work out.

Meditation

The satellite dishes probably were not necessary, but I’d wanted a way to show that his meditation was not a simple marshaling of thoughts and deep breathing- his consciousness is supposed to be flitting across great distances, whether Astral or otherwise, which makes Ezra’s contact with him more intimate as well as profound.

This is where MegMan’s training begins. When this was first conceived we had no idea what his powers would be. Since the relaunch of MegMan we will be giving you a more complete overview of his powers. I hope you like the next few issues. -Sapo

Yeah, it’s another page where the original comments were lost.

Fast-forward to the present, and I have no idea how this page got posted. It’s terrible-looking, especially the third panel.

All that I can really say is that I was still feeling out my tablet, but this is not a good piece of artwork here.

That’s all I have to say about this page. Let’s move on to something else.

Oh yeah, and tomorrow’s my birthday.

The funny thing about “secret societies” is that some of the things that they are said to do take place in the broadest of daylight, or are simply inobscurable (like detonating missiles or driving That Crane Thingy into the middle of the desert), yet they still manage to avoid the public eye.

The second panel is a little too stiff, but I like the third- between the text and the image, it’s almost like something that you might see in an advertisement for the First Earth Defense Society (if there were such things).

The world is a dangerous place. The First Earth Defense Society (FEDS), was founded by a fringe group of UFO hunters. They have been tracking MegMan’s space craft since it appeared near Earth. It was only a matter of time before they caught up with MegMan. They did not expect MegMan’s ship to go down so easily.

Hey Internet.

The last time we spoke, there were some announcements made at what was probably the worst possible time to be making decisions that don’t involve holiday cheer.

While we stayed mostly on schedule (I think), we could have done a lot better. In fact, there was a fair amount of stuff that just didn’t get done.So we’re starting this year off right, albeit a week late. I resolve to have weekly updates, for CottonFluff as well as MegMan, and artwork for major holidays.

Or so I said a long time ago. Since then, I have held to those resolutions with varying degrees of success, although there were some stretches where I was posting regularly. Those were the days…

The Welcome Wagon

I tried to keep the Zer0 Patrol suits looking like 1940s-level technology. Not that I really did any research or anything, but I figured that if the suits and equipment looked kind of clunky it’d be appropriate.

The tri-panel layout in Panel 3 was a bit of an experiment. I kind of like it. I wish I’d done a better job with the explosion, though. I remember drawing and re-drawing it a bunch and never really being happy with it, then settling for that one. Ah well.

Like I said before I would not have shot down the ship. The ship being shot down creates problems in the storyline. But now that it’s shot down we have to make sure that the ship gets reintroduced into the storyline down the road. For me the ship is very important and is a character itself.
